Professional monitoring of intruder alarms with police response
A monitored alarm system has an additional layer of security and assurance compared to self-monitored alarms or audible-only alarms, for extra peace of mind.
Yee Group’s monitored intruder alarm systems are connected to a 24-hour Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) and this means that when the alarm is triggered, trained operators at the ARC respond rapidly and take appropriate action, such as contacting nominated key holders and in some cases the police.
It’s important to note that police forces will not respond to an audible-only alarm unless they receive confirmation from a person on site that a burglary or break-in is in progress. This prevents them from attending false alarms. This is why intruder alarm monitoring is so important, it ensures the police are contacted if the threat is real, saving police time and protecting your property.
An alarm monitoring service is more reliable than relying on someone nearby to hear the alarm and respond. The use of an ARC ensures that alerts are always responded to, even if the property owner is not available or if the alarm is triggered outside of business hours. Also, your insurance company might insist on a monitored alarm as part of your coverage.

Commercial alarm monitoring services are available 365 days a year, making them a valuable tool for protecting your business. The 24-hour alarm receiving centre ARC is staffed by experts who will respond according to the situation and in line with previously agreed instructions from the client. So in the event of an alert from your monitored intruder alarm, the response could be contacting a nominated keyholder, an on-site security team or the police.
Monitored Burglar Alarms – The technology Monitored burglar alarm systems can be hard-wired or wireless to suit your premises and incorporate the latest detection devices to ensure the security of the property:
We always install reliable equipment from the UK’s leading manufacturers of security systems for commercial buildings.
Signalling When an alarm activation occurs, your alarm will send an alert to the alarm receiving centre. It does this using 4G and IP networks such as broadband. IP networks are fast and secure, and 4G provides a backup in the event of a power failure. The signal will always go through to the ARC.
The Benefits of Monitored Systems
A monitored system offers your business a higher level of protection. Here are some of the key benefits:
Fast Response: If the threat is real, the monitoring station will take action immediately. Whether this is calling the police or calling you, you get the peace of mind that the threat is being acted upon.
Better Security: With fast responses comes better security. This minimises the chance of theft/damage.
Remote Access: Almost all systems will come with the ability to remotely control and monitor. Usually, this is through a website hub or an app. This enables you to check in, unset, set and receive notifications about the status of your alarm system, no matter where you are.
Preventing False Alarms: False alarms are a nuisance for business owners, neighbours and the police/local council. A monitored system helps reduce the prevalence of false alarms as alerts are verified before action is taken.
Insurance Costs: You might find you can get a cheaper deal on building and contents insurance if you have a monitored alarm installed. Because of the effectiveness of these systems, insurance companies will sometimes offer you a reduced price.
Increased Property Value: Having a monitored alarm installed at your business premises is an investment that can pay off when it comes to selling. These systems provide an additional level of protection, which can give potential buyers more peace of mind.
